If you want to get out and explore the waterways in Marion County, there are a few places you should visit. These three waterways belong on every tourist’s must-see list. Find out where you should go on your trip to Ocala.

1. Rainbow River

Located in Rainbow River State Park, this waterway can be found in the town of Dunnellon. It’s a family-friendly destination with waterfalls, gardens, and tall palm trees. You can go snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking down the river. In the summer, tubing is quite popular. There is a vehicle entrance fee to the park, as well as an individual fee for entering the main springs.

2. Silver River

The Silver River is in the famous Silver Springs State Park. In fact, the park is the largest natural artesian spring in the world. To enjoy the park, get on a kayak or paddle board and make your way through the forest and wildlife. You can rent your equipment in the park, or launch your own.

3. Juniper Run

For those with an adventurous spirit, there’s Juniper Run. This spring is approximately seven miles long and is quite challenging. There’s an area of short rapids that challenges even the most experienced of canoe or kayak riders. As with the Silver River, Juniper Run has its own rentals.
